Special
Recognition To Our Residents:
- In March we had a very successful and fun Shamrock
Bunko Party. A very warm and special thanks to Marian Hansen for being
our hostess with the mostest! She kept the whole party rolling and
organized then added up and announced the winners. The desserts were
wonderful, the game was a lot of fun and the afternoon just delightful!
Thanks for all your help, Marian!
- In March we also had our St. Patty’s Celebration with
a Baked Potato Bar. Everyone brought either a salad or dessert and the
food was great! We had all kinds of stuff to put on your baked potato,
and all kinds of salads to go with it. Thanks, to Jim & Marilyn Aldinger
for bringing the ham too! Special thanks to everyone who brought a
delicious dish and to all those that came out and joined us! Lots of
hands made the set-up and clean-up much easier. Thank you to all who
helped! It was a great green celebration!
- A very special thanks this month to our great Board
of Directors! These men and women work very hard on behalf of the
community and go that extra mile every day! Let’s hear it for our Board!
Great job well done! Keep up the good work!
- A very heartfelt thanks to Willie Swayze for her work
with the Flower Fund. Always getting those flowers sent in a timely
manner. Thanks Willie!

Ponderings From the Manager
Spring IS on the horizon; I feel it in the air. We have been blessed to
have such nice weather already! With the warmer weather upon us, Miller
will be around to start clean-up in the common areas. Please leave the
snow markers on your property until Miller removes them. They will collect
them and reuse them next year. Grass cutting is scheduled to begin the
week of April 19th, if needed. The later they can start in the Spring, the
later they can cut in the Fall as the contract is for a specific number of
cuttings. We will determine whether it can wait a week or two. We don’t
want Miller to begin cutting until necessary! Enclosed in this newsletter
is the map of when you will be cut. Now is the time to report grass damage
or sprinkler head damage to the Clubhouse . Compost pick up will begin on
Wednesday, April 7th. Remember to have your compost at the curb in
regulatory brown bags. Do not put anything in the bags but compost. Do not
put plastic containers or any other garbage in these bags. Have the bag(s)
to your curb by 10:00 am. Do not put compost bags out on Thursday. The
refuse company will not pick-up these bags! Talking about garbage pick-up,
remember that we ask that you don’t put your garbage out early Wednesday
night especially as the days are getting longer. Please put out after
dark. This just helps to keep the community neat! Miller will be at the
Clubhouse on Saturday, May 1st at 11:00 am to give you updates on their
services. Come on over and meet the crew, enjoy a little snack and juice
and hear what they have to share!
Just a couple reminders to share with you! The Detroit Free Press and
Detroit News paper boxes located at the Clubhouse had been moved for the
winter season. If you pull up to buy a paper and the boxes aren’t there;
they will be located in their original space down at the end of the
Clubhouse. Also, now that the weather is beautiful, many are out walking
their pets. Please remember to be kind and pick-up after your dogs while
walking them. Even in the common areas! Take the potty bags home with you
and dispose of properly. Do not throw them in the woods or the waters.
Remember that not following these rules is a violation of the By-Laws and
if you are caught not taking correct care of your dog while walking, you
will be served with a violation. We certainly don’t want that to happen!
Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated!
As you all know, the bulletin board in the craft room at the Clubhouse is
for sharing contractors or postings of interest. The bulletin board gets
overcrowded and messy at times which then becomes difficult to actually
read what is posted. Please talk to us in the office before posting
something on the board. After approval, we will post it and date it so
that we know when we can remove it. It has just been cleaned up, so your
assistance will help us to keep it that way! We do want your input! If you
have hired a contractor to do some work and are pleased, get some cards
for them so we can share the information on this board. Thank you!
In March there was a gentleman from Hungry Howie’s delivering fliers to
homes. I was notified of this and escorted him out of the community. If
you happen to see someone in the community soliciting, please call the
office and report it. Most times these people are not driving into the
community; they walk-in. There is no way of us knowing unless you call and
report it. I did call Hungry Howie’s and talked with the owner. The owner
apologized and stated the worker was told not to enter this community. The
flier was for the store located at Adams and Silver Bell. Heritage in the
Hills is NOT in their delivery area. The owner did state that they would
honor the coupons/prices but it would be for pick-up only. He urged the
residents to use the Hungry Howies located on Walton and Dexter in Auburn
Hills. That store will deliver to your home.
Did you know that Auburn Hills has a Quality of Life Center? It is located
on Cross Creek Parkway. I visited the Center and was pleased to find a
great resource! It provides Adult Day Care with medical services
available. Prices seem reasonable and the care looked wonderful! If you
would like more information, stop in for a flier or call the Center direct
at 248-364-4064.
As the snow birds return home, we wish you all a friendly hello! We
welcome you home! Spring is here which means summer is quickly
approaching. The pool is scheduled for opening at the beginning of May. It
is, therefore scheduled to open to residents on Friday, May 28th at 10:00
am! Our new pool cover has seen it’s first winter and it seemed to work
wonderfully! Watch for more pool information in the May newsletter.
Looking forward to seeing everyone as you are walking the community or
coming to the pool for a dip! Until then, Happy Spring and a Blessed
Easter to All!
