Ponderings From the Manager

Grass cutting for the season began the last week of April. Please remember that cutting will occur on Tuesday for those north of the
clubhouse (please do not water on Monday or Tuesday); on Wednesday south of the clubhouse (do not water on Tuesday or Wednesday); and on Thursday in Phase I & III (please do not water on Wednesday or Thursday). As in the past, if you incur any problems with the grass cutting, please contact me at the clubhouse. The community is already looking green and beautiful thanks to the beautiful spring we have had! Miller is doing a great job in making it look beautiful already as well! Hurray!

I have some great news to report! Bob Luttermoser met with theDirector of Development and the Director of Public Works of
Auburn Hills, accompanied by our own Woody Woodburn of Heritage, to review the planned improvements for our Tienken/Squirrel
Intersection. They report that the traffic lights at the Tienken/Squirrel intersection have been in for several months. You may
have wondered “What is next?” The City has the plans ready and are waiting for good weather. The right side of Tienken
approaching Squirrel will be widened moving the pathway over. The right hand lane going north on Squirrel will be widened to match the turnoff section across from the Church entrance. A section of walkway south of Tienken will be installed to make it continuous along the east of Squirrel Road. All necessary drains will be extended to properly drain the intersection. Some further considerations are being
pursued to see if any of the drainage can be diverted to the north to reach the Galloway Drain. Thank you gentlemen for working hard to keep us abreast of what is happening!

May is an exciting month as we move forward to summer at Heritage. The pool will open at the end of the month just in time for the holiday (as long as we get clearance from the county!). Please read and review the Pool Rules and Procedures on the back cover of this
newsletter. The tennis courts are ready for your play; as is the Bocce Ball court and the horseshoe pit. Come enjoy all the fun things
available at the clubhouse while spring is springing and summer is on the horizon! Lots happening around the clubhouse; hope to see you all around for the fun! Welcome home to all who have returned over the past couple weeks. So happy to see the community filling up and having everyone back home safely!

Miller Landscape has reported a loss of a backpack blower. If you see it around the neighborhood, please let us know. Also, a CD was
removed from the CD player at the Clubhouse on Friday., April 28th during office hours. If you know anything about it’s whereabouts, please let us know in the office. We hope someone borrowed it and will return it soon! Talk to us if you know it’s whereabouts! Thanks.

  2. Absolutely no diving or jumping of any kind in the pool or spa. No running
or horseplay allowed in the pool area.
  3. No glass containers in the pool area; use only plastic or aluminum.
  4. Michigan Law prohibits the use of alcoholic beverages in the hot tub; or entering the pool or spa while intoxicated.
  5. Young children/toddlers MUST wear swim diapers - NEVER regular disposable diapers.
  6. Children under 12 are NOT PERMITTED (no exceptions) in the hot tub. This is a State Law and will be strictly enforced.
  7. Food and beverages only allowed at the upper deck of the pool area (where the tables and umbrellas are located).
  8. Large floats and toys are not permitted. Noodles and other swim-type aids are allowed.
  9. Radios are only permitted at the pool area with headphones.
  10. Please remember before leaving to lower the umbrella, use the trash containers and clean-up the area you used!
  11. Proper swimwear is required. Cut-offs are not considered proper swimwear. Swimwear is not appropriate for use inside the clubhouse. Please dry off and wear an appropriate cover-up and shoes while inside the
    clubhouse.

IMPORTANT PROCEDURES TO REMEMBER

When entering the pool area, you will need to have your pool passes. Check-in/Check-out as you enter or leave the pool area. If the gates are locked; enter the pool area through the clubhouse using your key. Each household has been issued 2 Resident and 2 Guest Swim Passes. If you need pool passes, see the office staff to get them. If you will have more guests than two coming to the pool area, speak to the staff prior to usage for permission. Showers are available in the restrooms for your convenience. We suggest showering before and after swimming. Please
provide your own soap and towels and never leave the water running. Children under 10 using the bathroom or shower facilities must be accompanied by an adult.

When you are at the pool, please familiarize yourself with the Injury/Medical Contingency Plan that is posted. If there is an emergency, it might be your responsibility to react to it. KNOW WHAT TO DO! Familiarize yourself with the emergency phone so that you know it’s location and how to operate it. It only dials 9-1-1; it can’t be used for any
other calls. One of the Pool Operators must be notified immediately in case of an emergency. The Pool Operators will not be at the pool area during all open hours; but will be available within 10 minutes at any time. If you occur any accidents while at the poolside, please report them immediately to a Pool Operator. Accidents include things such as
tripping, falling, sore feet, dizziness, fainting, fecal accidents, etc. Remember that the Pool Operators are not lifeguards. Your Pool Operators are: John Bell (248-495-7723) and Karen Brierly (248-722-5797).

The pool temperature is maintained at approximately 85 degrees while the spa is maintained at 104 degrees. Please DO NOT enter the Pool House or touch any of the equipment at any time. If there are problems with the system, notify a Pool Operator.

Please understand that there are times that the pool will have to be closed for reasons beyond our control. Situations such as when water chemicals are unsettling, equipment break downs, spillage of blood or feces or even
inclement weather. We will do all possible to open the pool as soon as possible. If you see the “Pool Closed” sign posted, DO NOT ENTER the pool area. If you are asked to leave the pool area by a Pool Operator because of an emergency pool closure, please cooperate and know we aren’t happy about it either! We have lots of procedures to follow driven by the county and state and must keep the health and safety as our first concern. We truly would appreciate your support and cooperation during these times.

In case of inclement weather, the pool and spa will be automatically closed. If you are at the pool and thundering and lightening begins, please leave the pool area at once. If shelter is needed, please enter the clubhouse. If the weather is demonstrating a light rain; the pool will remain open and you are welcome to wait on the deck to see if it passes. It will only be closed at the sighting of lightening and thunder.

While at the pool area, if you see the pool rules or procedures are not being followed, please notify a Pool Operator. They will handle the situation and make sure the rules are being enforced without putting you in an awkward position.

Anyone causing damage to the pool, pool area, spa, bathrooms or pool furniture will be held liable for damages.

Violation of Pool Rules may result in suspension of pool privileges. The Management and Association Board reserves the right to alter, amend, revoke or add rules as deemed necessary; at which time you will be notified.
